Once in a while you will get a Windows Dedicated Server that has all of the CAL’s used and will need to log in to the server. Here is a workaround to bypass the license shortage and allow a Remote Desktop connection. Instead of launching a normal Remote Desktop session, run the following command in the Command Prompt substituting the customer’s IP address for the example shown below:
mstsc /v:74.208.68.26 /admin
This will launch a Remote Desktop login that looks exactly the same as the normal one, but will allow you to bypass the licensing issue.
