{"id":558,"date":"2019-09-30T16:21:57","date_gmt":"2019-09-30T16:21:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/server-help.org\/?p=558"},"modified":"2019-09-30T16:23:28","modified_gmt":"2019-09-30T16:23:28","slug":"extend-server-c-drive-windows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/server-help.org\/index.php\/2019\/09\/30\/extend-server-c-drive-windows\/","title":{"rendered":"Extend Server C Drive (Windows)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In this article we will discuss how to extend your Server C drive, in case you don&#8217;t have much space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of Dedicated Servers comes with most of free space is assigned to D drive, and that make it difficult to extend C drive; because the end sector of C drive is the beginning of D drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, we need to Delete D drive in order to extend C, then re-create D drive again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It&#8217;s very important to Back up all your Data from D drive before proceeding with extending C drive.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If your Server has Plesk Image, then you need to enable (Show hidden files), from File Explorer -> View -> Options.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From Folder Options window -> select View tab -> then select Show hidden files, folders, and drives<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Right-Click on Windows Start menu and select Disk Management <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"335\" height=\"626\" src=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/tempsnip.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/tempsnip.png 335w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/tempsnip-161x300.png 161w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Server here has RAID 1, so working with 1 Disk will affect the other Disk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-1-1024x530.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-561\" width=\"925\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-1-1024x530.png 1024w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-1-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-1-768x397.png 768w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1-1.png 1848w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 925px) 100vw, 925px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Remove mirror for both drives C and D<\/li><li>Right-click on drive D -> remove mirror from disk 1, then right-click again on drive D -> delete \/ remove volume<\/li><li>Right-click on drive C -> remove mirror from disk 1<\/li><li>At the end, you will have only partition C on Disk 0, and Disk 1 will look like 1 disk.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2-1024x528.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-562\" width=\"937\" height=\"483\" srcset=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2-1024x528.png 1024w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2-768x396.png 768w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2.png 1847w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 937px) 100vw, 937px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Right-click on partition C -> Extend Volume<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"579\" height=\"479\" src=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-564\" srcset=\"https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3-1.png 579w, https:\/\/server-help.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3-1-300x248.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Provide the amount of space to be extended for C Drive (Value is in MB)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In our example we will add another 100GB (100000 MB), so total for our C drive will be 200GB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After extend C drive, we need to create D drive.
